Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be held at 10:30am Wednesday March 20, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Oblong, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm Tuesday March 19, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Oblong, IL.
Carolyn Imogene Henry, 89, of Oblong, IL passed away on Saturday March 16, 2019 at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL.

She was born in Jasper County, IL on December 4, 1929 to William Edgar “ED” LeFever and Blanche Emily (Leggitt) LeFever. On March 28, 1948 she married Mack Keith Henry who preceded her in death on December 23, 2013.
Carolyn had worked at Helen’s Style Shop in Oblong, IL, P.N. Hirsch in Robinson, IL, Heath-Tri County Roofing in Robinson, IL and TRW Electronics in Oblong, IL. She was a member of Mound Community Church and the Oblong High School Class of 1947. She was very active in her church and was an avid reader. She loved her flower beds and vegetable gardens, always canning what she grew. She would host family birthday parties and was an excellent cook, always cooking for her family. Carolyn always hosted the annual Henry Family Christmas Party. The grandchildren were always excited to go to Grammy’s house to eat “good food”. She was the first Martha Stewart!
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Ron and Bette Henry, Sullivan, IN, Greg and Brenda Henry, Robinson, IL; two daughters and sons-in-law Peg and Tom McLane, Mattoon, IL, Barb and Bill Hill, Oblong,IL; ten grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great –grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Alma LeFever, Oblong, IL; three sisters-in-law Diana Henry Aten, Oblong, IL, Carol Henry, Oblong,IL and Eileen Randolph, Portage, IN; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Richard and Barb Henry, Shelburn, IN, Clair and Susie Henry, Monticello, IL and Jim and Judy Mann, Oblong, IL along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, grandson Brad Foss, brother Harold LeFever, infant sister, two sisters-in-law Patty Hanna and Sue Shoemaker, three brothers-in-law Bruce Henry, Roger Henry and Jimmie Henry.
